A 29-year-old young man confronted two criminals who attempted to steal his motorcycle in the vicinity of the supermarket "Compra Fácil 137" on Calle 137 between 35 and 36. Although they could not take his belongings, the young man managed to subdue one of the wrongdoers who was armed with a 20 cm knife. In the scuffle, the other criminal was able to escape, but the young man was alerted by a call to 911, and patrol officers quickly arrived, successfully apprehending the suspect identified as Matías Maximiliano Mendieta, 21 years old, residing on Calle 35 between 151 and 152. At the time of his detention, the knife used in the attempted robbery was confiscated, even though the detainee did not have personal identification. The case is being investigated by the Prosecutor's Office No. 11 of La Plata, headed by Álvaro Garganta, who has ordered that the detainee be transferred to give testimony at the first hearing on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Tactical Operational Cabinet of the Sub-Police Station La Unión is working on identifying and capturing the second suspect. The case has been classified as "Attempted Robbery."
